Living with purpose

Living with purpose

During their lifetime, most people continuously seek to find the real meaning of life and purpose within it. There’s something marvelous about knowing what you can do, what you’re destined to do or at least pining down your ambitions. You can tell when someone is driven by that, and it lights a different kind of fire in them. It’s excellent, and it’s something to strive for.

But is finding the purpose an easy mission?

When you realize that the purpose is often more practical rather than spiritual than it swaps the way of learning it with no hardship. Then why bother? Well, as it turns out, finding out a grasp of meaning of purpose can transform your whole life.

Purpose is defined as a guiding principle based on meaning from daily experiences and actions. It’s the way how we want to impact the world. Unlike a goal, a purpose is broader and deeper and is directly influenced by the core values and beliefs that an individual upholds. By using our consciousness freedom of choice, it is essential to be clear on what we want in our life, as we are to be responsible for our own choices. Being clear on what you want in life and why you want is a prerequisite of moving toward any achievement whatsoever.

Purpose is found when you live not only to better yourself but also those around you. In the words of the well-known author Jim Kwik, knowing your purpose in life helps you live with integrity. People who know their purpose in life know who they are, what they are, and why they are. And when you know yourself, it becomes easier to live a life that’s true to your core values. Your life purpose consists of the central motivating aims of your life the reason you get going every morning. Purpose can guide life decisions, influence behavior, shape goals, offer a sense of direction, and create meaning.

Let’s distinguish here purpose with other concepts. Purpose does not mean goals or passion, or desires.

Like for example, most men desire cars, money, houses and luxury stuff, that is not purpose, it is desire. Many students aim to study and have degrees in different fields, that is not purpose, it is goals and objectives. Passion in the other hand is what lights you up inside. Its experimenting to see what ignites your joy, passion for instance may be the desire to learn new things all the time, whereas purpose is finding your own story and sharing it with the world. Thus, the purpose is how we relate with the world and how we reach out to other people, it is how we use our passion and what we offer to others.

There are numerous studies suggesting that having a sense of purpose in life helps you to live a longer and healthier life as it impacts lifestyle habits, such as exercising, managing stress and taking preventive wellness steps. The very recent study by Patrick Hill and Nicholas Turiano concluded that maintaining a strong purpose in life can be as important to young adults as it is to older people, suggesting the importance of establishing a direction for life as early as possible. Another study provides scientific evidence for the biological benefits of having a purpose in life for people who set the purpose of life appear to have better cognitive function, longevity, sleep, cardiovascular fitness, and mood (Majid Fotuhi, MD, PhD And Sara Mehr).

Many may not know the definiteness of purpose and this is very common. People try to realize that but it has not been seeming possible to find out, as the path requires mastering yourself to become the best version of yourself and unlock the full potential in order to thoroughly pursue the purpose. We shall apprehend that the purpose does not have a specific aim as it pertains to something personal, e.g. for the believers the main purpose in life is to worship our Creator, not only through prayers, but nourishing inner peace, spreading love, helping others, seeking knowledge and be a part in other people’s lives, positively.

On the path to a natural state of being, we can easily find out what we really want in our life. Having clear goals to fulfill a purpose warrants a positive mental attitude, whereas avoiding doubts, having firm beliefs, discipline and passion open the pathways clear.

Therefore, purpose, in addition to the many health benefits that enables people to have, most importantly teaches us, that our presence in this world is of great importance, it is not by a chance, that we have accidentally been brought here and left without any mission. On the contrary, when we find our purpose, we truly understand that we are amazing beings, that can do wonderful works and leave long lasting legacies, that other generations enjoy and use for their own growth.
